The Fantasy of Putin's Demise

Reading American newspapers one would get the impression that Putin is a besieged dictator with thin popular support. In fact his popularity ratings have fallen from the 80's to the 60's and he will easily win the upcoming elections. There won't be a runoff. There hasn't been a national politician in the U.S. with Putin's level of consistent popular support since FDR.
